Always excited by the prospect of working on cutting-edge projects, BDS is proud to announce that it has developed the sponsorship strategy for the Marble Arch Mound. Part of a brand new development, the Marble Arch Mound is a 25m high temporary mound that will provide visitors with outstanding views of the capital’s West End.

An initiative launched by Westminster Council, the innovative concept was pioneered by Dutch architectural firm MVRDV and is expected to rejuvenate tourist activity in Oxford Street and the surrounding areas.

With work now underway, the Mound will feature an impressive viewing platform nestled in mature trees and plants. Visitors to the attraction will reach this platform via a path that winds its way up the Mound’s southern slope before descending into the hall which is planned to host exhibitions and displays inside of its hollow core.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the temporary structure has been styled to leave behind as little waste as possible upon its removal. The team at MVRDV have also committed to reusing the structural as well as the cosmetic materials involved in the project. More specifically, the wood, soil, grass, leaves and trees will all find new uses in nearby gardens and recreational areas.

Tickets are now on sale to visit Marble Arch Mound, and BDS is delighted to have played a vital role in supporting a sustainable initiative that aims to bring the capital back to life once restrictions have been lifted.
