Having recently completed a brand sponsorship strategy for Hackney Empire, BDS have been employed to undertake the Sponsorship Sales process.
For 115 years, the transformative power of theatre and music at Hackney Empire has vastly enriched the lives of this culturally diverse community, with the theatre boasting over 250,000 visitors a year.
Hackney Empire has developed their artist development and artistic programme in response to the findings of the National Opera Report and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Report which both highlighted that more focus is required to deliver a pathway for BAME artists to achieve global success in the Arts.
Over the next five years, they will be making exceptional work with exceptional partners (Opera Philadelphia; Harlem’s Apollo Theater; Armel Festival Budapest; English National Opera; Royal Opera House; Musiektheater Transparant Antwerp together with a cross section of UK regional theatres). These collaborations will be much more than a sharing of resources: the focus is on building bridges for audiences into opera and breaking boundaries within the art form itself.
